Synthetic Oil Can Improve Fuel Mileage for Diesels

There are many formulations of synthetic oil that are engineered specifically to combat the stresses found in diesel engines, and prevent these deposits from forming. By keeping sludge from affecting your drive train, and by taking advantage of the greater coating ability of synthetic oil, you could see an improvement in gas mileage of as much as 4 percent. When averaged out over a fleet of vehicles, the cost savings quickly become significant.
