Adidas was originally founded on August 18th 1949 by Adi Dassler who began designing shoes which were aimed to be stylish yet practical and functional. Dassler was also from a very small rural town and never envisaged his trainers to become so popular and iconic. The president of Adidas is a gentleman named Erich Stamminger who feels that it is due to Dassler's genuine passion for sport that enabled him to ultimately create a product that other athletes or aspiring athletes would benefit from. Of course, back in the 1940’s there was not much in the way of competition in the sports fashion industry and so Dassler spotted his niche at the perfect time. 60 years on, and the brand still stands by its original core values which consumers recognise and often stick to Adidas once they have tried it because the like what it represents; a true lifestyle brand. Of course the product lines have extended significantly and Adidas watches are definitely one of the most prominent of all sporting accessories.
