Such exercises definitely do not include using a treadmill, as this might result in a number of accidents that may be harmful to your knee. For example, while being on the treadmill, you may push the injured knee without realizing, or exert too much weight over it. It is not worth taking the risk, thus a treadmill should be avoided.
Other exercising equipment that should be avoided includes elliptical machines and exercise bikes. These provide exercises which are just too intense to be followed with an injured leg. While engaging in such exercises, you might make your knee do uncomfortable postures and angles at a fast motion, which may not be ideal for the situation at hand.
With so many don'ts and not much left to be followed, you will be relieved to know that recumbent exercise bikes help a lot at when it comes to working out with an injured knee. Due to the shape of the seat, one does not have to bend the knees in an odd or uncomfortable angle. This means one can work out with a lot of ease, which also plays a role in improving the condition of your knee.
