Nursing Jobs - What You Need to Do After the Interview That Will Help You Get the Job

So you just got back from a grueling interview for a nursing position that you really want. You know there will be other candidates. There is bound to be lots of competition. How do you separate yourself from all the others? How do you show that you are the best? Here's what you demand to do to see you are the one they remember and stand out as the better nominee for that nursing occupation you really want.

 

Follow along because most people interviewing for that nursing job will not do this. When you do this it will make you stand out. It will give you an added edge.

 

Immediately when you get home you want to call back to the facility where you interviewed. You want to leave a message for the person you interviewed with. If you met for an important sum of time with other people you want to leave a message for them as well.

 

In this message you want to be as professional as possible. Don't sound desperate or overly excited, be professional. You want to again thank them or the time they spent with you. You also want to let them know you are very interested in the position. You want to let them know that based on what you have learned about the position you are confident you could be very successful at it. Finally tell them you are looking forward to hearing from them regarding the next step in the interview process.

 

That's the first thing you should do. Here is the second very important thing to do following your nursing position interview.

 

You want to send everyone you interviewed with a note. If they are going to make a fast decision sends it via email. If you have a few days send it regular mail. Sending an email follow letter after your nursing interview is perfectly acceptable today.

 

Here's how you should write this note. It should have three parts. The first part will be very similar to your phone message. Don't worry if it sounds like you are saying the same thing in the intro of your follow up note as your email. They won't be comparing the two.

 

The second part of the follow up letter is the most important. In this part you will remind them of a few areas that were discussed that they are looking for-- that you would bring to the position. Talk about three or four topics that were discussed and share again how you have experience and success in those areas. Don't think that this isn't necessary because you just talked about it with them. Who know how various other people they will be interviewing and with each day that goes by they forget about how cool you are. This note will get a silent sales person working on your behalf every time they look at it.

 

The last part is a simple close. Say something like: "I am looking forward to... whatever they told you the next step would be.

 

Send this note off as soon as you can. It will present how interested you are in a very optimistic way.

 

Observe these tips following your nursing interviews and you will put yourself one step closer to landing that place as you separate yourself from all the other candidate that do not do this.
