Being a person living in Western New York State and being accustomed to Old Man Winter revving up every December, I make sure to have the proper equipment readied. A most important item for me is something to cover my neck area. If my neck is cold, I'm cold. To solve this problem most people turn to a scarf, I like a sweater type turtleneck dicky. For those who can not visualize a dicky it is a turtleneck sweater with its shoulders and most of its girth cut off so the neck and upper chest area are covered.

I've owned a number of dickies but this last one I could not find when making ready this Fall. While looking, I tried to think up what turned me from a scarf to a dicky. I think it was the ease of use. With a scarf one always has a problem with the ends of the scarf, where to put them, over the shoulder, under the arms or down the front to support the s

zipper or button area. Those problems one does not have with a dicky.

Now the Quick Dicky___looking around the house for my dicky and not finding it, and making a last look in a small clothes room, I took notice of an old sweater. The old sweater tapped my temple, which I do frequently to remind me I'm thinking. The thinking directed this: Cut off the sleeves, cut sleeves to about 15' long, cut up both sides 6' to7' and pull over head, thus a dickey.
