How good are Discount Medical Scrubs?

Most health care providers today are required to wear scrubs to work.  Because of this there has been a growing industry to provide them with discount and wholesale scrubs.  Many health care providers prefer discount scrubs because they have to own so many pairs and because scrubs need to be washed after every wear.  How does the price of discount and wholesale scrubs stand up to the wear and tear of hospital work?

The discount scrubs are often made of a cheaper fabric.  They will have a higher ratio of polyester to cotton and a lower thread count.  These scrubs can often feel papery and stiff, but they won’t soften with repeated washings.  After about twenty washings, they are nearly falling apart.  Even though they may cost half as much as quality scrubs, discount scrubs are not a good value for their cost.

Wholesale scrubs, on the other hand, are a wonderful way to get a lot of quality scrubs at rock bottom prices.  You may have to do a little more legwork, but it is worth it.  Brands such as Dickies, Cherokee, and Grey’s Anatomy make excellent scrubs in a variety of styles and colors.  They are chiefly cotton and will withstand hundreds of washings.  To find these scrubs, turn to your yellow pages and see if any local businesses deal in wholesale or remainder clothing.  If you can’t find them in your locality, start an online search.  Type wholesale and discount scrubs into your search engine and start browsing through the hundreds of sites that come up.  Look for the above mentioned high-quality brands, and if you are able to get pants for $10 or less and tops for $9 or less, you know you are getting an excellent value for your money.
