Maruti SX4 Diesel soon to hit the Indian roads

In India the diesel car models hold a great market potential as buyer find it easier to maintain and it gives a long term productivity.Considering the potential in this market Maruti Suzuki is all setto launch the diesel version of its popular sedan Maruti SX4. The petrol version of the sedan has been doing quite well as for the month of January '11, the sedan clocked the sales of 2159 units out of the 109,743 car models. Though the price for the diesel version is not yet disclosed but it is expected to be reveled by the this month . However, the hype was created when the new sedan was spotted recently in Karnataka. It still maintains the class, style and simplicity Maruti SX4 comes with. It seemed to be the demo car of Maruti SX4 diesel version. The difference which could be spotted out was that the diesel version will come with DDiS and ZDi. The close source here revealed that the sedan will outsource the engine from Fiat which is 1.3 multi jet consisting of 90 bhp. The 1.3 multi jet engine  also powers the new Tata Manza and Fiat Linea. The new sedan from Indian automakers is assumed to be 70 kg lighter which is ensuring better fuel efficient and excellent performance.The engine which is sourced from Fiat is also affixed in Maruti's other popular car models like, thehatchback Maruti Swift and the sedan Maruti Swift Dzire. But the engine is matted with VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo).The auto industry experts believe that Maruti SX4 has a great threat from Volkswagen Ventodiesel version. They also believe that if Maruti is looking to fetch a large number for its newdiesel car model it has to rightly strategise it especially in terms of pricing.  It is being highly speculated that Maruti SX4 diesel version will be Rs 1 lakh cheaper than Volkswagen Vento.New cars to look forward to this year include Tata Manza Elan, Volvo S60, Nissan Sunny, Maruti Cervo, Hyundai Avante, Toyota Etios Liva and Honda Brio.
