Cartier, The Essence of Time
For over a century this celebrated Place Vendome jeweler has employed an innate sense of materials and form to produce incomparably stylish watches such as the Cartier replica Tank watches, the Santos, the Pasha, the Tortue and the Ballon Bleu. Few brands boast as rich and diverse a historical catalog as Cartier. This is partially due to longevity. "The jeweler to the kinds and the king of the jewelers" was founded in Paris in 1847 and began making watches soon after. In 1853 Cartier released its first gusset watches and in 1888 it unveiled the first jewelry wristwatches. Throughout this period, Cartier bought its movements form great Swiss watches manufacturers such as Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet. At the turn of the century, however, Cartier replica watch broke with tradition and entered into an exclusive agreement with Edmond Jaeger, by which Jaeger committed to providing Cartier with his entire production of ultra-flat, repeater, chronograph, split-time counter, calendar and all ofer complicated movements. In fact, one of the defining characteristics of Cartier's history is its longstanding reliance on top-notch watchmakers to manufacture its movements.
Cartier collaborated with among others, Patek Philippe in the 1930s and Girard Perregaux and Frederic Piguet in the 1980s and 1990s, and it continues to hire Jaeger-LeCoultre to manufacture some of its movements (both brands now belong to the Richemont group).

In 1904 he designed the Santos for Brazilian aviator Santos Dumont. Considered the first wristwatch of its era, the Santos Dumont was issued commercially in 1911. In 1906 the Tonneau watch was released with a curved brand that followed the line of the wearer's wrist to perfection. In 1909 Cartier patented its system for wristbands with deployment clasps. In 1912 the Tortue and the elongated Baignoire were issued, followed in 1917 by the streamlined Tank, inspired by British tanks. In the 1930s Cartier was commissioned to design a luxury waterproof watch for the Pasha of Marrakech, which led to the creation of the celebrated Pasha line.
Following its takeover by an investment group in the 1970s, Cartier inaugurated a more quotidian take on luxury objects with the Must line. Though the brand was now heavily diversifying its output through the production of lighters, leather goods and perfume. It continued to score big hits on the timepiece market. Among Cartier's more memorable recent successes, one cannot overlook the shapely gold and steel cartier replica Santos 100, which was released in 1978 and went on to sell more than one million pieces; the Panthere, which became the must have ladies model of 1983; the 1985 Pasha, which heralded the trend for large calibers; the 19089 Tank Americana; and the 1996 Tank Francaise.
