If a wet suit is used in very cold water to provide extra warmth, some now come with the added protection of titanium fibres. Because children grow so fast and can outgrow their suits in the wink of an eye, most childrens wet suits come with a design that enables the parent to release portions of the suit and actually adjust the size so that the suit can easily be worn through a number of growth spurts!

The Neoprene mentioned above is not only comfortable but also very smooth to the touch, enabling your child to wear it alone as a swimsuit. Neoprene is also highly durable, and will in fact last for many years.  The thickness of the Neoprene is 1/8th of an inch, or 2mm thick, thus a child can easily move while wearing one, yet the suit does what it is designed to do even as thinly as it is constructed.  Most parents complain that after trudging to the lake or beach the child plays in the water for about 10 minutes, then wants to be taken out and is chilled throughout the day and thus wants to return home as soon as possible. 

When your child is wearing a wet suit, this will no longer be a problem, as the child will remain warm and comfortable in the water for much longer periods of time. Childrens wet suits are easy to slip on and off and are never hampered by zippers that may injure your child. Pinching skin in a zipper is a recipe made for yowls and tears thereby ruining your beach day, not to mention that some zippers may become jammed causing yet another type of problem.
